When you want to create a campaign or promote your brand, business or company online using Facebook social platform, sometimes you can be a bit confuse of which service to use, shall you create a Facebook Group or Facebook Page?

A lot newbies of Facebook go for a total wrong option and create a normal “Facebook Profile” for business or campaign usage and start invite their customers or friends to join them. This is a Wrong Wrong way to promote your business over facebook by using normal profile, why i say so?

Facebook Profile

Facebook Profile was design for personal usage only, which mean for “Human” only, not for business, website or an event, if you using a personal profile to promote business (including promote yourself) and keep recruiting unknown users, end up your profile will be banned by facebook administrator and you will lose all your information and contacts, that why this is not a smart way to promote your business!

Personal Profile only allowed you to add people that you know in real life! Not for you to add  and getting know new friends and recruit new contact.

Advantage :

Your contacts able to follow all your latest activities, everything on your profile can be trace by mini feeds, more interactive

Disadvantage :

Profile limits now set at 5,000 contacts, the more contacts you have they higher chances you get banned, sending out mass message to facebook contacts can also result profile banned.

Facebook Groups

On Facebook Groups, this is more suitable for personal interest and non-profit organization. Example : you’re looking someone for common interest like paintball, music, food & beverages, religion & spirituality, travel mates, college project and etc.

Now question, can i promote my business using a facebook group? my answer to you is still NO, although they don’t restrict so much of promoting activity on groups (whether business or non business) but once someone report you and your group activities seem much more related to business and profit, then all members you build in group will be gone too!

Unless you promote in a tricky way, example : instead of promoting your website in facebook group about “How to Make Money Online” , you can promote other related websites and share useful information of making money online in group and make the room more like a forum discussion for interest & not so much for business.

Advantage :

Able to send out mass message to all user in your group, easier for latest news update and also viral your business.

Disadvantage :

Cannot  add any desire facebook applications, which mean you can’t customize your group. However basic apps was included like “Create Events”, “Photos Album” , “Video Album”, “Discussion Board” and “The Wall”

Facebook Pages

If you’re promoting your business, this is the one. Facebook Pages are special design profiles used solely for commercial, political, or charitable purposes but you may not set up a Facebook Page on behalf of another individual or entity unless you are authorized to do so. This includes fan Facebook Pages, as well as Facebook Pages to support or criticize another individual or entity.

Advantage :

Plenty of Facebook Apps for you to install in your facebook pages, like FBML (facebook html), RSS importer, notes importer, marketplace, review apps and etc.

Also come with “Insight features” for you to analyst the statistic of users visit your page, example: “Page Views”, Unique Views” Gender analyst and etc.

Disadvantage :

When you send out Facebook page updates, it doesn’t go to your fans facebook inbox but only create an “update notifications” on users home, which sometimes doesn’t really catch attention of user and miss out your updates

I’m a blogger or webmaster, can i create a normal Facebook Profile to promote my blog or website?

NO, i’m did this mistake before and my personal profile was banned. According to Facebook terms of service, Facebook profiles must represent a single individual. Users are not permitted to maintain an account under the name of their organization, or use personal accounts primarily to promote themselves professionally, include public figure, celebrities, bloggers and etc.

Can i own more than one Facebook Profile / Facebook Group / Facebook Page?

You can only own ONE (1) Facebook Profile and unlimited (so far) Facebook Group and Page

I had created a Facebook Personal Profile for my business, what should i do?

Lucky you read this blog post, there is 2 option you can consider!

1st option, Change your Facebook Profile to personal profile and removed any business content like products showcase in your photo albums and create a facebook page for your business.

2nd option, be good boy, contact facebook sales-support@facebook.com and ask them to help transfer all your facebook profiles contact to facebook page and close your facebook profile.

My Facebook Account Disabled and Banned, What Should I Do?

You can contact facebook support by disabled@facebook.com or appeals@facebook.com and appeals to reactivate your profile or transfer your banned profile contacts to your created facebook pages.

Recently, i think of buying a car from a friend for my family member! So after survey few banks hire purchase package, i found something "interesting" about Malaysia’s bank, let see the following conversation…..

After 3 minutes dialing and passing to hire purchase department……

Bank M officer    : U car dealer or personal?

Me    : Personal, not car dealer…..i’m buying from a friend!

Bank M Officer    : Kita tak buat Hire Purchase la! (we did not do hire purchase)

Me   : HUH?? How can? i have a car loan with your bank wor?

Bank M Officer    : Kita tak layan direct case (we do not entertain direct case)

Me    : Huh???~~~

Phone hung without saying "Thank You" or "Goodbye"

After Googling, i decide to try another newly merge bank – Bank C

Still the same, you need to wait for hell long untill someone care to pick up your call…

Bank C Officer    : New Car or second hand? model?

Me    : 2nd hand BMW…..bla bla bla….

Bank C Officer    : Mr. Jerry, as a direct case without Car dealer involve, your interest rate will be very high and approval of loan also harder & longer!

Me    : ??? Why ? I think my profile was good, shouldn’t have any problem….why need car dealer?

Bank C Officer    : If you want a good interest rate & fast approval within 3 days, i can recommend our bank panel car dealer to help you …..his name is XXXX and contact number is 019-3xxxx

ME    : wait wait wait……. Why i need a car dealer? i just want to apply directly from your bank, how long will it take & what is the interest rate?

Bank C Officer    : (not so happy) If you really want to apply direct will take 3-5 weeks to process and your interest rate will be very high & you need guarantor……..bla bla bla…..

Me    : Wah! but you haven’t see my profile how you know i need guarantor?

Bank C Officer    : This is our bank policy, if you call my friend(car dearler) he can help you to process easier and faster !….. What is your mobile number? i ask him call u now, he know what to do !

Me    : errmmm…… ok ok ! why not you give me the number i’ll call later!

Bank C Officer    : No no no, give me your number i ask him to call you immediately!

Finally, I found Bank H a bit friendly and willing to layan (entertain) me!

So i submitted my profiles & related document & wait……..

and WAIT………..

after a week, i called the Bank H Officer , !@#$%^&*  he said, need JPJ V2 report, i faxed to him the next day!

So i WAIT again………………..

and Wait………………………….

& wait………………………………..

Another week passed, i called again, Bank H Officer said : Oh, we need seller to issue a invoice to prove he want to sell the Car. Thats all….. !@#$%^&*

And i WAIT………..

and Wait……………..

& wait…………………….

CAN YOU IMAGINE NO NEWS FROM THEM AFTER 5 WEEKS?

Everytime you called them, they said will call you back later, busy & so.

The Worst Part is….. After 5 Weeks waiting, Bank H officer ask me to try Bank P if i cannot wait, Bank H Officer said Bank P interest rate better and faster! Walau……..what da hell is this, ask people don’t come to your bank!!!!

Now you know, buy a car(2nd Hand) in Malaysia wasn’t as easy as you think! Never to mention any other kind of Loan………
