Since sometimes reading “lol” doesn’t deliver the same punch as actually hearing your friend laugh at your jokes, Thanks to Google make Gmail now support voice and video capabilities in your Gmail chat. From within Gmail, you can have an actual conversation with someone (seriously, out loud), or even chat face to face over video.

How to get started with Gmail Voice and Video Chat

1 ) Download the Gmail voice and video chat plug-in, quit all open browser windows, and install the plug-in.
2) Restart your browser and Sign in to Gmail.
3 ) In the Chat section of your Gmail, select the contact you want to call. If they have a camera icon next to their name, you can make a voice or video call to them; just click Video & more.

If your friend doesn’t have a camera next to their name in your chat list, you can invite them to download the Gmail voice and video chat plug-in from the Video & more menu in a chat window. Even if your friend doesn’t have a video camera, you can still make a voice call or a 1-way video call. An Video enable icon will show in your gmail chat list as the image below.

Download and Installation

aktt_add_tweet

Your plugin function will receive an aktt_tweet object as the first parameter.

Example psuedo-code:

function my_status_update($tweet) { // do something here }

add_action(‘aktt_add_tweet’, ‘my_status_update’)

I’m using this plugin on my blog to auto archive my daily twitter status update, why? Simply because of easier for my readers to search and find all message i posted online. Also when you’re not able to update your blog for any reason, it will still create new content for you digest from your twitter message and post on blog!
