Flickr Banned My Account and All Photos Gone !

Flickr banned my account with the similar reason as “Why Facebook banned my account previously“ and this time i’m not so lucky like the facebook case because flickr do not have appeal system, when your account deleted, all your photos gone and no further appeal shall be entertain.

According to flickr term of service, If they find you selling products, services, or yourself through your photo stream (example One, Two & Three) , flickr staff will terminate your account without notice and all your priceless photos will disappeared.

Feel pretty sad that flickr do not take users content (photos & video) seriously, they should allowed user to backup their files before terminate the account or at least friendly enough to removed unacceptable content. Lucky, all my previous flickr account photos that embed on my blog post still remain (not sure till when they will removed).

My Two Cents

DO NOT EVER host all your wonderful photos, video or content at external website without backup. For bloggers, DO NOT upload your photos to free services and embed on your blog, for the sake of saving bandwith, that wasn’t a long term way for blogging & you might make your blog look awful one day!

I do moblog with convenience of flickr for the pass 2 years and now i get myself a new flickr account again, my dear friends and readers, please remark my new flickr url ;

BarCamp Malaysia 2008 at Kuala Lumpur

I will attend BarCamp Malaysia 2008 at Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur! Don’t get me wrong, BarCamp is not a camp for Bartender….. yea although i’m into F&B industry!

What is BarCamp?

Directly quoted from Wikipedia: BarCamp is
an international network of user generated conferences — open,
participatory workshop-events, whose content is provided by
participants — often focusing on early-stage web applications, and related open source technologies, social protocols, and open data formats.

BarCamp Malaysia

BarCamp Malaysia is an ad-hoc unconference and is part of the larger BarCamp
movement. While there are topics suggested for discussion, there is no
set agenda until everyone gathers. Attendees are required to
participate to some degree: either by giving a presentation, demo, etc.
or by facilitating a group discussion. Topics are flexible, as well.

BarCamp Malaysia 2008 will be held on 26th and 27th July.

This is also consider very first time i’m going to attend this kind of geeks and experts gathering event after few years being a blogtizen

I’ll take this as a good learning opportunity to explore more new things and ideas from experts gather all over Malaysia IT industry and also few from overseas.

Why You Shouldn’t Buy Belkin Router! Especially Streamyx User

I really piss off with Belkin Router ! I had two Belkin N Series WiFi Router
which gave me bad experience, that why i told Jeffrey – my brother NOT to
buy Belkin router anymore for our home, yet he refuse to take my advice (i
recommend Linksys) and he bought another Belkin Wireless G Router, ADSL 2 +
Modem.

Reason from Jeffrey is the lifetime warranty applied to every Belkin’s
network products as mentioned by the sales person from lowyat plaza attract
him to buy it again…. WTF

1st, this Belkin router take me 3 hours to setup and still fail to go
online, i suspect Belkin Router not well compatible or not design for
Streamy Broadband Malaysia due to the ADSL link can’t stay solid which my
original modem from TM can easily receive solid signal.

2nd, which a normal consumer will do, we called up Belkins Asia Support
Center; they take 2 minutes to note down my personal information and request
me to hold the phone line and……………….. its like hold forever! I
was waiting for the operator come back with solution for more than 15
minutes and i give up. Can you imagine they hold my call like “BEH-YAU-KIN”
(“don’t care” in hokkien). If you can’t find a solution at least call me
back, not hold your customer for good.

Last but not least, i personally think you don’t need Belkin’s lifetime
warranty router because it doesn’t work from the first day!
