From within Gmail, you can have an actual conversation with someone (seriously, out loud), or even chat face to face over video.

How to get started with Gmail Voice and Video Chat

1 ) Download the Gmail voice and video chat plug-in, quit all open browser windows, and install the plug-in.
2) Restart your browser and Sign in to Gmail.
3 ) In the Chat section of your Gmail, select the contact you want to call. If they have a camera icon next to their name, you can make a voice or video call to them; just click Video & more.

If your friend doesn’t have a camera next to their name in your chat list, you can invite them to download the Gmail voice and video chat plug-in from the Video & more menu in a chat window. Even if your friend doesn’t have a video camera, you can still make a voice call or a 1-way video call. An Video enable icon will show in your gmail chat list as the image below.

Trade Now – Simplest Google Ads I Have Seen

What a great Sunday morning for me, hope same to you! I notice this simplest Google ads this morning when visit my own blog, the 336 X 280 advertisement place under “related post” of my recent topic “Startup Camp Kuala Lumpur 2008” is so clean and simple which only contain 2 words “Trade Now” as the picture show above! (view screeshot here) The advertisement not even show it website url or any tagline.

I’m so curious to know which website or company created the ad but sad to say, i cannot click on my own Google Ads as it will breach Adsense Program Policies and i can’t find the advertiser in my Adsense “Ad Review Center” too, which mean it wasn’t an advertisement placement targeted to my site(s).

How To Find Out Who Is Sending Hatred Messange and Spam Comments

I received a hatred message from an anonymous by using the convenience of my blog’s contact form!

If you’re a blogger, spam comments and hatred message happened everyday! Sharing too much of personal information on your blog might lead you to the risk of jeopardize your real life privacy. Stalkers can based on shared info on your blog, even twitter messages and guess where you normally go and your daily habits.

The following is the content of the hatred message i received yesterday!

How To Find Out Who Send You Hatred Message and Spam Comments?

Step One – Indentified the IP Address of Sender

In WordPress comment system, it will auto record every comment IP address and most of the contact form plugins also come with this feature.

Step Two – IP Look Up Who Is The Sender

This is actually very easy, you can use few hundred thousand of Free IP-Lookup websites to check on the IP address which send you the message.

ip-lookup.net worth a try, help you Lookup IP address of website, the following is the information i retrieve after IP search.

Gotcha, the hatred message was send from the office of Big Four Accounting firm – PWC (PriceWaterHouseCoopers), country Hong Kong mean where their company mail server located, not necessary send from HK but it already show 90% chances send from PWC Asia (Malaysia)

Step Three – WHOIS Lookup

I will recommend you do WHOIS Lookup to find out who is the owner of the domain and etc, this will help you to get in touch with the administrator or owner of the domain, after this proceed to steps four;

Step Four – Send An Email To Site Owner and Report Spam

Once you get the contact information of the webmaster, write them a friendly email to report about this incident and i recommend you request a reply from them if you think the incident was serious enough and / or it already jeopardize your image or business.

Sample Email to Spammer Web Administrator :

To Owner, Webmaster, Administrator of www.example.com

Dear Sir / Madam,

My email account (website) had recently being spam by your company personnel as we did a research e.g. IP Lookup and verified the source of sender, it was showing the message was send from your company domain (www.example.com / 220.241.141.11)

We hope your company can attend to this matter as soon as possible and we hope similar incident would not happened again!

Thank you very much for your attention on this matter and please update us your further investigation information shall there is a need.

Use Your Google Account to Sign In other Websites

The era of using single Google Account to sign-in multiple websites has started! Google had become an identity provider for OpenID.

Online users are required to create individual passwords for many websites they visit daily and Google learn that users would prefer to avoid this step so they could visits websites more easily, because of this Google has launched an API that allows other websites to provide users with the option to login using their Google Account, in turn eliminating the need for a separate sign-up.

The pioneer websites first allow users using Google account credentials for signup and sign in, including Plaxo and Zoho.

The initial version of the API will use the OpenID 2.0 protocol to enable websites to validate the identity of a Google Account user, including the optional ability to request the user’s e-mail address. Below is an example of the flow that a user might see if he or she starts at a website that uses this new feature:

The website could use a modified login box that looks like the one below. If the user enters a Gmail address and indicates that he or she does not have a password for this site, then the site can redirect him or her to Google.

The user would then be taken to the Google website and asked to confirm whether he or she wants to sign in using Google Account

How To Use Canned Responses in Gmail

Step One – Activate in Gmail Labs

Go to “settings” in your gmail (top right), go to “Labs” tab and enable “Canned Responses”, remember to Save your settings at the bottom of the page.

Step Two – Create Standard Responses Template

Select “Compose Mail” and you can find “canned responses” link below the subject bar, start create standard reply you desire.

Step Three – Create Filters and Auto Reply

I received average nearly 100 emails a day and 20% need reply, this “canned responses” plugin would definitely help me to reduce my online “work load” , just check out my “archive gmail account” and found out i had received 38637 emails for the whole years plus 17657 spam, which mean a total of 56294 emails a year ! Wow, wondering how much storage of gmail was killed by spammers.
