I received a hatred message from an anonymous by using the convenience of my blog’s contact form!

If you’re a blogger, spam comments and hatred message happened everyday! Sharing too much of personal information on your blog might lead you to the risk of jeopardize your real life privacy. Stalkers can based on shared info on your blog, even twitter messages and guess where you normally go and your daily habits.

The following is the content of the hatred message i received yesterday!

How To Find Out Who Send You Hatred Message and Spam Comments?

Step One – Indentified the IP Address of Sender

In WordPress comment system, it will auto record every comment IP address and most of the contact form plugins also come with this feature.

Step Two – IP Look Up Who Is The Sender

This is actually very easy, you can use few hundred thousand of Free IP-Lookup websites to check on the IP address which send you the message.

ip-lookup.net worth a try, help you Lookup IP address of website, the following is the information i retrieve after IP search.

Gotcha, the hatred message was send from the office of Big Four Accounting firm – PWC (PriceWaterHouseCoopers), country Hong Kong mean where their company mail server located, not necessary send from HK but it already show 90% chances send from PWC Asia (Malaysia)

Step Three – WHOIS Lookup

I will recommend you do WHOIS Lookup to find out who is the owner of the domain and etc, this will help you to get in touch with the administrator or owner of the domain, after this proceed to steps four;

Step Four – Send An Email To Site Owner and Report Spam

Once you get the contact information of the webmaster, write them a friendly email to report about this incident and i recommend you request a reply from them if you think the incident was serious enough and / or it already jeopardize your image or business.

Sample Email to Spammer Web Administrator :

To Owner, Webmaster, Administrator of www.example.com

Dear Sir / Madam,

My email account (website) had recently being spam by your company personnel as we did a research e.g. IP Lookup and verified the source of sender, it was showing the message was send from your company domain (www.example.com / 220.241.141.11)

We hope your company can attend to this matter as soon as possible and we hope similar incident would not happened again!

Thank you very much for your attention on this matter and please update us your further investigation information shall there is a need.
