How many Facebook friend you actually know in Real Life?

Find my facebook list grow pretty fast after the new facebook homepage was introduced, up to date received 118 friend requests, heard some of the hot female friend even received more than 2,000 friend requests or as much as 100 requests in a single day!!!

Some incident happened lately make me realize substantial of privacy settings & what being share online. Oftentimes people will generally judge you by what they see on your facebook or things you share online. Thus, i separate all my contacts in facebook to more than 30 groups example : close friends, business friends, bloggers and etc each of these group have different settings in received information shared by me.

Share with me here your experience if you’re one of the facebooker who received large amount of friend requests from strangers and check out the below request found in my facebook, anyone know this hot babe? Seem like another fake profile start digging our contact list…. oops 17 common friends?

Facebook had announced a major update to its new homepages that will go live coming Wednesday!

The new Facebook homepages will put the news feed o the center of front page and have a filtering feature at the sidebar for you to choose which network of updates you prefer to be highlights. For default, it will highlights the most popular topics and links that are currently being discussed by your friends. The Facebook news feed is now also updated in real-time, whereby the old feed ran on a schedule and only updated a few times per hour.

Facebook also update new profiles for public figures and organizations. Once called Pages, these new profiles will now begin looking and functioning just like user profiles. Just as you connect with friends on Facebook, you can now connect and communicate with celebrities, musicians, politicians and organizations.

I’m a heavy user of Facebook and even browse the site with my mobile device when away from PC. Facebook had become an alternative platform for me to send/receive message within my contacts instead of SMS sometimes. The new Facebook homepage look clean and most interesting part for me is everything update in real-time.

What about personal privacy? Found a lot of Facebook user still not aware about how to setting what they share  & their personal info might be view by public without their knowledge and its traceable even after some years.

Will Facebook have better solution for their security? As we can see possible user data mining using Facebook apps still working within the largest social networking platform in this planet.

Facebook users have once again been victimized by cybercriminals. Yet another rogue Facebook application posting notifications to user profiles that said:

(Name on my friend’s list) has just reported you to Facebook for violating our Terms of Service. – This is your official warning! – [Click here to find out why you were reported!] – Request Facebook look at what has happened and rule immediately.

The link in the Facebook notification led on to an application named f a c e b o o k – - closing down!!! which, when you click on it and it will install the apps, then proceed to spam all of the affected user’s (your) friends with the same message. It is likely with intention to harvest your personal information along the way.

Surely it’s about time that Facebook reviews its application hosting policy & user’s security!
