My Two Cents
The new design definitely had great improvement compare to old design and you may see new design shout out stronger on each products which Exabytes offer! I personally think maybe Exabytes should consider add in few more element to the website for their consumer or attract more potential customer.

1. Spokesmen
I really have no idea who is the red shirt guy as shown in the above screen shoot, who promoting the XStudent Hosting. Exabytes should consider tied up with some regional well known blogger (e.g. liewcf, kenny sia) as spokesperson and share how they benefits from Exabytes Products. Do you know blogger always start from a blog reader before they start blogging!

2. Which Hosting Package Right For Me?
A lot of newbies really have no idea which hosting package is best for them! Not surprise there is still people ask me what is domain name and web hosting. Exabytes should consider to have a simple step by step package chooser and lead those newbies choose the most suitable package for them.

3. Pre Sale Knowledge Base
As mentioned above, some simple definition of web hosting, like how it work? What is domain name and what they can do with it etc. should also put in the consideration and make consumer find every information in one site. It will be sad to lose a potential customer when they can't find related info from the website and start Google "what is domain name" and the search results will lead them to millions of other hosting company.

4. SandBox

This is definitely a great move and allowed users to have more control of their friendster blog's backend. I believe friendster using WPMU as the base as supporting multi million user for using new platform which i also playing on it recently on our coming project at Friendscino.com

The blog you're reading now - Jerry Ong Community was also powered by Movable Type but after idea exchange with problogger like liewcf and hongkiat back in Barcamp, it actually give me an idea of converting my blog to WordPress and i'm still testing on it.

My Two Cents
WordPress indeed a beautiful code for blogging and happy to see friendster.com upgrade the user blog and allowed users to have more control on their own blog's backend which the previous blog system lock all the function. There is still room to improve, example allowed user to upload or import their own blog template rather than limit it to 21 template; allowed own domain mapping also not a bad idea and it could be another revenue of friendster.com by selling domain name and provide premium hosting services! without domain mapping wouldn't attract serious blogger to blog there with a long blog address

]]> The story need to start from last Sunday 24th August, when i login to my facebook account and aware that my facebook account had been disabled, this is definitely cannot be accept when you're communicating and share information with friends and networks daily and now you're banned, i quickly send an email to facebook administrator and report about this and there is no reply until 29th August i received email from facebook customer support and the following is the whole message which make me laugh... especially the first sentence "Facebook Profiles must represent a single individual" , sounds like i'm not an actual human but someone from Mars

I quickly reply the email and tell them primarily i prefer to maintain a normal Facebook account which allowed me continue communicate like before with my contacts and will only consider accept their fans profiles page offer if they insist i'm a public figure because i do not want to re-invite all my contacts to add me as friend in facebook again!

The second reply from facebook still think i'm a public figure and will help to migrate all my contacts to be my fans on my fans profile page! That is the whole story of how i force to be a famous public figure by facebook. Not too bad, at least i'm able to keep all my previous contact and create another good channel for them to follow my latest activities through online social networking platform.

If you're a problogger or full time blogger active in Facebook, you're advice to request / create a fans profile page to prevent your account being disabled. Facebook take the words "over active" without proper definition publish on their user terms. Over social like sending message to your group members, having too many friends, place a lot of comments around, too frequent update or ping your status shoutout and etc will result account banned.

Friendster.com Deploys OpenSocial Support for Benefit of Users, Developers and Industry

Friendster.com today announced that it has deployed the OpenSocial standard application programming interfaces (APIs) as part of the Friendster Developer Program. Companies and individual developers can now use the OpenSocial standard to introduce their applications, or features, to Friendster's 75 million users around the world.

OpenSocial support is a significant enhancement and extension to the successful Friendster Developer Program, launched in late 2007. Friendster was only the second major social network to launch a robust developer platform, and since then, the Friendster Developer Program has been successful with both users and developers alike. Since its launch, over 10 million unique users have added "apps," most users add several apps, and about half a million apps are being added by users to their profile pages each day. There are thousands of developers registered for the Friendster Developer Program, there are about 2,000 members of the Friendster Developer Platform Group on Friendster, over 450 apps have been deployed on Friendster, and thousands more apps are currently under development by third-party developers.

"With widespread support throughout the industry, OpenSocial has become a de facto standard for developers of social applications. OpenSocial makes it easier than ever for developers to build and distribute their applications across multiple destination sites like Friendster. Developers can spend less of their time on integrating and more of their time on building interesting, useful, fun, and/or compelling features," said David Jones, vice president of global marketing for Friendster. Developers are building apps on Friendster for several reasons:

Friendster is the only way for developers to reach 55 million users in Asia on a single social network.
The Friendster Developer Program has a completely open revenue model. It is free, there is no revenue share with Friendster, and virtually any monetization model is allowed on Friendster. Ads are allowed anywhere in apps - unlike other social networks - so developers can even place ads as part of their app on the profile page for a dramatic increase in page views and corresponding advertising revenues. Friendster is the only social network to allow developer ads on the profile page.
The Friendster user base is mostly distinct from other social networks. OpenSocial developers can reach tens of millions of new users because Friendster's user base does not overlap much with those of other social networks. For example, the highest overlap with any top social network is 18%, so depending on the social network, at least 82% of Friendster's 57 million monthly unique visitors in July are new users that developers cannot reach any other way.**
It's easy. Developers reveal that it's straightforward to port an existing app to Friendster.
Viral support has been built-in by Friendster for all apps. Friendster has introduced several viral features to enable a user of an app to share it with their friends, but in respectful, thoughtful ways, such as aggregating these app invitations into a single email digest that is only received periodically. As a result, friends aren't inundated with too many email invitations to try new apps from their friends. And, users have a new setting allowing them to control whether they receive these app invitations via email.

Google AdSense for Feeds is Live Now!

How to Make Money with your RSS Feeds? When you logon to Google Adsense recently, you will find Adsense for Feeds advertisement option is now widely available for Adsense user! This sounds a good news for people who make money online from their blog or website. You need to have a feedburner.com and adsense account to monetize your RSS or Atom feeds.

]]> Once you Login in or Sign up a Google Adsense account, go to "Adsense Setup" , click on "Get Ads" tab you'll find the new Adsense for feeds.

When you choose Adsense for Feeds, you will be prompt to enter information of your prefer ad type, layout and etc. Some users will be stuck here like me if you're using different email for adsense and feedburner. So you need to do a manually migrating feedburner account to your google account before you can monetize your feeds. I'm simply surprise Google request user to do this manually but not automatically process online.

How to Migrating to a Google Account in order to use Adsense for Feeds?

Google will soon provide a self-service process to migrate from an account on the original FeedBurner website to a Google Account. Currently, migrating your feeds from from FeedBurner to a Google account is a manual process. Google will assist you directly to ensure a successful migration. The only way you can use AdSense for feeds is through your Google Account.

To migrate all of your feeds, and your account from feeds.feedburner.com to Google, contact them at adsense-support-aff@google.com and provide the following information:

Your FeedBurner account username
The Google Account email address you use to sign in to AdSense

Google will migrate your account and contact you with specific steps for you to follow once migration is complete.

I received reply from Google Adsense more after 2 days but still cannot proceed to Adsense for Feeds due to they found i have 2 feedbuner account.......

Anyone had successfully implement Adsense for Feeds in your RSS or Atom? I think Google Adsense still need to make it more clear in future in between Adsense for Feeds and Feedburner Adsense Integration in future, also make it automatically transfer by user will be more convenience.

Integrate Google Apps with your existing IT infrastructure.

Step Four - Create User Account

From the control panel, create as many user accounts as your organization needs.

Add users individually. Click the 'User accounts' tab and then the 'Create a new user' link. Enter your first user's real name, choose their username, and record the temporary password. Then, click the 'Create new user' button. Repeat as needed.
Add users in bulk. To create multiple accounts at once, upload a whole list of user accounts by clicking the 'Upload' link from the 'User accounts' tab.
If you run out of user accounts, you can let us know that you need more by clicking the 'Request more users' link.

Step Five - Migrate Data and Turn On Email

Configure your domain's Mail Exchange (MX) records to activate email delivery. (Note: this step is already completed if you purchased a new domain in Step 1). MX records determine where email to your domain is routed. Each domain hosting company has a different process for changing MX records, but we provide detailed instructions for many hosts. Please note it can take up to 48 hours for your MX record changes to take effect.

Step Six - Deploy Google Apps

Now that you've created your user accounts and activated your
services, it's time to help your users get started with Google Apps.
We've created a deployment guide
with sample notification emails, links to training presentations and
best practice tips that we hope will make adopting Google Apps as easy
and seamless as possible.

As part of the deployment process, you'll need to:

Notify your users of the change to Google Apps and give them the usernames and passwords that you set up in Step 3.
Direct your users to the sign in pages for your Google Apps services, which you can find in the control panel.
Share helpful tips and tricks with your users.

Facebook start insert sponsor ads into Stories and Mini Feeds

After Facebook launch it new layout earlier, now you can see there is some significant improvement on it layout, i'll say more tidy and more advertisement will show on your right bar which some of the users say it was good for the advertisement placement (more user attention and higher CTR)

Today i aware Facebook also insert sponsor ads into users Stories and Mini Feeds , which is just like any in content ads placement most of the bloggers will do. Guess what! they really make the sponsor ads like one of your friend's story which i think will attract a lot of user click on it, specially ads with attractive title and description example "Who want Free Tickets of Avril Lavigne Concert?" or something like "Who want to join our Bikini Party?" lol~

]]> Now the question is, will users like in-content advertisement?
Some of the user really don't like in-content advertisement but some say yes to it as long the advertisement much related to the information that they're looking for!

My blog also have in-content ads, so drop me a comment share with me what do you think about in-content advertisement and maybe include in-text advertisement (example: kontera) Do you like it or hate it? If you're a blogger or publisher, how much in-content ads generate revenue for you?
