This brings a new light onto how website owners can fraudently bias opinions of their products so as to persuade customers to prefer their products over others.

Well known or not, if you pay for any 50 twitters to endorse your product who do so because they are earning money for their time, all sense and reliability of company blogs as a source for references etc go out the window.

I guess it was bound to happen as PPC ads are so costly.

I participate in Sponsored Tweets & have been monitoring the reaction although only that from those who offer me their opinion. I get mixed responses, ranging from “I hate these ads” to “go for it!” to complete indifference. Tweeting an occasional advertisment hasn't led to any mass unfollowing but I have been told that some who follow me only tolerate them because 1) they otherwise value my friendship and 2) they are infrequent (2-3/month). No doubt, if they became a daily occurrence, even my closest friends would probably rethink receiving my messages.
