MySpace Officially Start Offer Advertising Platform – MyAds

MySpace has launched a user self-service advertising platform under their sub domain http://advertise.myspace.com, which seem to be targeted specifically toward musicians, filmmakers, musicians, politicians, authors, video bloggers, non-profit orgs, realtors, restauranters, comedians, radio stations, and doctors.
MyAds was similarly to Facebook Ads except that advertisers can create custom banners that are either 728×90 or 300×250.
MyAds can targeting by gender, age, location, and specific interest categories. The current categories are Auto, Books, Fashion, Health & Fitness, Miscellaneous, Movies, Music, Sports, Television, and Video Games. You can’t set own keywords but forced to select from a pre-defined set of “Genres” within each category.
All Campaigns are run on a cost per click (CPC) basis only without option for a cost per impression. Advertisers will be prompt to set up an advertiser account and these accounts are separate from MySpace accounts. The most interesting bit is that the CPC rates start at $0.25 (with minimum campaign budgets of $25), which put it in the range of affordability for most people.

Jerry Says……
Seems like MySpace had pick up and want to share a big pie of Online Social Networking Advertising market, believe as long run, this advertising platform will definitely generate a good revenue for MySpace, the interface was easy to use and hopefully they will consider to give out some promotional code or credit to encourage more users to start using MyAds to advertise in soon future
