I think he cracked under pressure but still proud of him
@Jagdesh, ya he still so young (1982) and the next Olympic is waiting for him, Proud of Malaysia indeed
he juz had load of pressure n tension n hold on very tight from his performance, pity boy..btw silver is not bad either.but yet this is not the end for him think would makes him even stronger!then.will support him as always!:D
Yeah, shame about him not winning Malaysia’s first gold medal. But still, he won Malaysia’s only silver medal at the Olympics. That’s not too shabby for the world number 2.
muka tak lah kacak sangat..
@Peter What to Shame about? Not everyone capable enough to enter Olympic final, moreover its all about the Athlete spirit more important than the prize and yeah we got a Silver!
You misunderstand me. I didn’t mean shame as in he should be ashamed of himself. I meant he was the closest person to our first gold medal for Malaysia, he got that far, but didn’t get it. That’s what I meant by ’shame’, as in ‘ah sayang sekali, hampir dapat pingat emas’.
And of course, him representing Malaysia by being the world number 2 in the world is a great achievement. Not blaming him for not getting gold, he did well making it to the finals.
@Peter: Ah ! Got it and good to learn the new meaning in Bahasa
Thanks for sharing here man and good day!
Yeah, at least he didn’t lose in the 1st round like Lin Dan in the 2004 Olympics in Athens. Wahahahahhaa!
Nah I was just kidding.
But yeah, Lee shouldn’t feel too bad about himself. There’s always London in 2012 to try again. It was a thrill though, to see a Malaysian so close to ‘emas’.
The boisterous crowd took a toll on him mentally and he failed to take control of himself and perform to a level of his usual self. The best athlete should be accustomed to pressure and not bringing it up after the fact. I feel that LCW needs to reevaluate how mentally prepared he was going into the Olympics and whether his fight against Dan justify all the efforts he has put into his training?
All the best to his next events.
It is never easy to compete in Badminton in China. I am very proud for his achievement and especially, coming from my home state. Even though gold evaded him…his training discipline and sportsmanship are attitudes we should all accolade him
lee chong wei!!lee chong wei!!lee chong wei!! done us proud!!silver is ok..if anyone in malaysia can get gold..then i have nothing to say. datuk lee chong wei had done his best. YEA. people always said ”i doubt he can get gold..”doubt this and that, if you are better than chong wei, why are you not in olympic? why sitting down there and complain and compare?
